Our concert this Saturday has the making of being something special so please encourage as many of your friends and relatives to come along and hear two relatively unknown works :-

Bob Chilcott's 'Songs and Cries of London Town' and
Vaughan Williams 'In Windsor Forest'

  1. My thanks to all who turned out on a very wet and windy evening. I do hope you enjoyed the concert whether as audience or participant. Its encouraging to experience something new and for that something new to be sucessful, particularly after the enormous amount of effort and time put into it. I extend my thanks in particular to the members of the Sheppard family for their instrumental contributions, to Don for organizing hire of several instruments and their transport, to Vince for his Herculean task of providing staging and seats, to front of house staff and refreshment organizers, all involved in the publicity 'machine' and last but not least Christine and Tim - what a duo! In fact what a team!!

  2. Whilst I would endorse every word of John's comments regarding the team aspect of last Saturday evening I have been slow to register my appreciation of the concert itself. My (self-imposed) withdrawal from the performance because of my failure to attend sufficient rehearsals enabled me to hear music which I had found particularly difficult and (from where I sat in rehearsal) not particularly appealing. I was delighted to find, however, that the combination of my far from perfect knowledge of the pieces and the benefit of hearing the balance of parts from the audience's perspective provided some beautiful and very appealing music. Well done all!
